Senior, hands-on technical business analysis role partnering closely with underwriting, technology, and operations teams to shape scalable digital solutions within a modern insurance environment. This role focuses on translating complex business and underwriting needs into robust technical outcomes across multiple platforms and vendors.

This position supports complex change initiatives, working with senior stakeholders to improve underwriting workflows, system stability, and the effective use of technology across the business.

The Role:

This position sits within a growing digital and technology function supporting an insurance underwriting business operating in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.

The role spans multiple complex initiatives, including new technology implementations, vendor integrations, and enhancements to existing platforms. You will play a key role in shaping solution design, supporting delivery teams, and ensuring systems are scalable, maintainable, and aligned with business needs.

Acting as a senior technical business analyst, you will work across underwriting, IT, and operations, serving as a trusted advisor and problem solver while helping guide best practices across the wider BA function.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead requirements elicitation and analysis across multiple complex initiatives
  • Translate underwriting and operational processes into clear, actionable technical requirements
  • Review and shape solution designs to ensure scalability, stability, and maintainability
  • Identify, investigate, and triage complex business and technical issues
  • Work closely with internal teams and external vendors to deliver end-to-end solutions
  • Support system configuration, integrations, and implementation activity
  • Identify risks, dependencies, and impacts associated with proposed changes
  • Contribute to testing activities across system updates and new implementations
  • Maintain strong engagement with stakeholders to ensure solutions remain aligned with evolving needs
  • Provide input into best practices, standards, and continuous improvement across the BA function

 


About You:

  • This role suits an experienced Technical Business Analyst who is comfortable operating in complex insurance environment and enjoys working close to both the business and technology.
  • You bring strong technical awareness alongside solid insurance domain knowledge, with experience supporting system configuration, integrations, and data-driven solutions. You are confident engaging a wide range of stakeholders, running workshops, and shaping solutions rather than simply documenting requirements.
  • You thrive in fast-moving, growing organisations, enjoy working across underwriting, IT, and operations, and take ownership of your work with a proactive, can-do approach

Key experience includes:

  • 3+ years’ experience in a Technical Business Analyst role

  • Insurance domain knowledge, particularly commercial insurance and claims processes

  • Experience with system configuration and exposure to code review processes

  • Working knowledge of insurance technology, including APIs and complex rating logic

  • Strong communication skills, with confidence running workshops and producing high-quality documentation

  • Experience working with Agile and/or Waterfall delivery approaches
