Project management role partnering with underwriting, operations, and technology teams to deliver complex digital initiatives across the insurance value chain. This role focuses on driving structured delivery, aligning stakeholders, and ensuring successful outcomes across multiple concurrent programmes.

This position supports complex transformation initiatives, working closely with senior stakeholders, vendors, and cross-functional teams to deliver scalable technology solutions from discovery through to go-live and benefits realisation.

The Role

This position sits within a growing digital and technology function supporting an underwriting-led insurance business, delivering modern platforms, integrations, and digital capabilities.

The role focuses on leading and coordinating multiple complex initiatives, including new product implementations, vendor integrations, platform upgrades, and support transitions. You will bring structure and clarity to delivery, ensuring projects are well-governed, risks are managed, and stakeholders remain aligned throughout the lifecycle.

You will act as a delivery lead, owning projects end-to-end — from planning and mobilisation through to execution, release, and post-implementation support.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end delivery of multiple digital and technology projects
  • Develop and manage detailed project plans, timelines, budgets, and RAID logs
  • Facilitate governance and delivery ceremonies, ensuring clear ownership of actions and decisions
  • Manage scope, change control, and prioritisation to protect delivery outcomes
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams across technology, operations, underwriting, and vendors
  • Oversee third-party and vendor deliverables, ensuring accountability for quality and timelines
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate risks and issues, escalating where appropriate
  • Support testing strategies, including system, integration, and UAT phases
  • Plan and manage cutover, release, and transition into support, including hypercare
  • Drive stakeholder engagement and communication across technical and non-technical audiences
  • Track costs and benefits against business cases, highlighting variances and corrective actions
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of delivery frameworks, governance, and best practices

About You

This role suits an experienced Project Manager with a strong track record of delivering complex technology or data-led initiatives, ideally within insurance or financial services.

You bring a structured, delivery-focused mindset combined with the ability to operate in a fast-paced, evolving environment. You are confident managing multiple stakeholders, vendors, and workstreams, and are comfortable balancing detail with strategic oversight.

You are proactive, organised, and solutions-focused, with strong communication skills and the ability to bring clarity to complex delivery environments.

Key experience includes:

  • 5+ years’ experience in project management delivering software, data, or platform initiatives
  • Proven experience delivering integrations, data migrations, and/or SaaS implementations
  • Strong vendor management and third-party delivery oversight
  • Experience with delivery tools (e.g. Confluence, MS Project, Azure DevOps) and structured reporting
  • Solid understanding of technology delivery lifecycles and environments
  • Experience working within regulated environments, including awareness of security and data considerations
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, including senior engagement

Desirable experience:

  • Professional certification (e.g. PRINCE2, PMP, Scrum Master)
  • Experience across Agile, Waterfall, and hybrid delivery models
  • Insurance domain knowledge, ideally within commercial underwriting or the London Market
  • Experience coordinating multi-vendor programmes and complex dependencies
  • Exposure to API integrations, data pipelines, or rating engines
  • Experience building business cases and tracking benefits realisation
